By Kate Paulin · Realtor, Real Estate Broker Associate at eXp Realty
There is something special about living in a community that knows how to celebrate summer. And Longmont, especially the Prospect neighborhood, knows how to celebrate. This last week of August is packed with live music, local art, and the kind of warm-weather energy that makes you fall in love with this corner of Colorado all over again. Whether you are a current neighbor, a prospective buyer scouting the area, or just someone who loves a good festival, this week has something for you.
Farmfest Music Evening with The River Arkansas
Friday, August 28 · 4:30-8:30 PM · 11150 Prospect Rd, Longmont
Kick off your weekend right at Sunflower Farm, a beloved local gem just minutes from the Prospect neighborhood. Their Farmfest Music Evening series brings live music, food trucks, and farm fun together every Friday through the summer. This week features The River Arkansas, a band whose folk-rock sound is the perfect soundtrack for a late-summer evening. Bring a blanket, grab a bite from the rotating food truck, and wander the farm. The goats, chickens, and open barns stay open for guests to explore throughout the event. Tickets are $27 per person and reservations are strongly recommended. It is the kind of evening that reminds you why community matters.
Rooster ArtFest 2026
Saturday, August 29 · Starting at 12 PM
Art lovers, this one is for you. Rooster ArtFest is Colorado's premier street and urban art festival, featuring more than 50 local and national artists creating live murals, immersive installations, and interactive art experiences. Expect live music on multiple stages, food trucks, and a massive art market where you can take home something original. It is a celebration of creativity and Colorado's thriving art scene, and it's just a short drive south from Longmont.
Legends Return: Leftapalooza Past Winners at Left Hand Brewing
Saturday, August 29 · 4 PM · The Garden at Left Hand Brewing, 1245 Boston Ave, Longmont
Hosted by High Country Bank, this special free concert brings together past winners of Leftapalooza, Left Hand Brewing's beloved annual tribute band competition, for a reunion show in The Garden. That means the best tribute acts from years past, all on one stage, all free to attend. Grab a Left Hand brew, find a seat in the outdoor garden, and enjoy an afternoon of crowd-favorite covers from some seriously talented local musicians. The Left Hand Brewing Foundation puts on Leftapalooza each June, with proceeds supporting Longmont nonprofits, and this Legends Return show is a wonderful encore.
Atom Jazz Fest: World-Class Jazz in The Garden
The Garden at Left Hand Brewing, 1245 Boston Ave, Longmont
The inaugural Atom Jazz Fest wrapped up its three-day run this past weekend (August 21-23), and it was nothing short of spectacular. Presented by KUVO Jazz, Rockfan, and KGNU, Northern Colorado's newest jazz festival brought together emerging young artists, college bands, high school all-stars, and established Colorado jazz musicians for a free weekend of incredible music. The Ken Walker Tribute Sextet, the Longmont All-Stars Jazz Band, and the Atom Collective all lit up the stage at The Garden. If you missed it, do not worry. Left Hand Brewing's outdoor garden hosts free live music most summer evenings, and the Atom Jazz Network is already talking about next year.
More Local Favorites
The Boulder County Fair wrapped up earlier this month at the Boulder County Fairgrounds, bringing rodeos, carnival rides, and 4-H exhibits as it does every August. And that festival energy carries right through the end of summer here.
Longmont's downtown brewery scene is always buzzing. Left Hand Brewing and Wibby Brewing both host live music regularly, so check their calendars for weekday sets and weekend headliners. For a more intimate experience, the historic Dickens Opera House on Main Street hosts concerts, comedy nights, and theater performances in its beautifully restored hall. It is one of those places that makes you proud to call Longmont home.
Living at 2017 100 Year Party Ct #3
What makes all of this even better? Being able to walk out your front door and be right in the middle of it. The home at 2017 100 Year Party Ct #3 is a rare end unit at Boho Lofts in the heart of the Prospect neighborhood, with dramatic 15-foot ceilings, floor-to-ceiling windows, and solid hardwood floors. It sits adjacent to the park and is just minutes from Sunflower Farm, Farmfest, the Prospect green spaces, and downtown Longmont's entire entertainment scene.
Prospect homes rarely come on the market, and this one is truly exceptional. Whether you are looking for a primary residence in one of Longmont's most walkable neighborhoods or a weekend getaway with the Front Range's best festivals right outside your door, this is the one.
